How do I get started ?

Who do I contact if my customers/users are experiencing issues using a MangoSpring application ?
Standard performance/technical queries should be sent to support@mangospring.com. In addition, all integrated clients are given an email contact for urgent matters
Can I customize WebIM for my own site ?
Yes! Please visit Integrated IM for detailed customization and integration options.
What kind of reporting tools are available for WebIM ?
All clients have access to the MangoSpring WebIM Admin portal. This portal can be used to check usage history, get updates on new features as well as download any documentation that may be needed for updates and new products.
If I want the Integrated WebIM solution then who does the integration ?
You can do the integration yourself with the documentation provided by us. However, if needed, we can also do the integration for you.
Does MangoSpring work with other software providers ?
Yes we do! MangoSpring has partnered with website script providers so that our apps are set up as turnkey features.
Will my database of users be secure after going for the Integrated WebIM option ?
Yes. We just integrate our application with the database and ensure that security is not compromised.
Can I host WebIM on my server ?
Yes, you can host WebIM in your servers. However, in that case our support may be limited. If you wish to learn more about MangoSpring's hosting operations please contact us to discuss.
Can Integrated WebIM work with my current database of users ?
Yes, The app will allow or deny users based on your user database. Users trying to use the app will not have to login a second time, but will be granted direct access based on your user database.
Do my users have to install anything ?
No! Our solutions are browser based and do not require any installation or a download. The only prerequisite is that the user has a current version of Flash installed (from Version 8 on). But don't worry according to a study done by Adobe, 98.8 % of all internet users already have it (source:adobe.com). However, our Flash detection will tell your users the problem and provide a current version for download.
I am an existing Userplane customer. Can I switch to MangoSpring WebIM ?
Website IM APIs are 100% compatible with UserPlane! This makes it very easy to switch and provide a reliable, site-wide, instant messaging experience to your users.
What plugins do you currently support for Integrated WebIM ?
MangoSpring has developed several plugins to make integration with online communities seamless, quick, and low cost. Currently we support plugins for WordPress, vBulletin, PHP, Java and RoR. Plugins for Facebook and Drupal are coming soon
If you have written a Plugin we currently don't support and want to share it with the MangoSpring community, we'd be glad to place your name/domain next to the download as a reference. Please contact us at support@mangospring.com for further information.
What technology do you use ?
WebIM's front end is based on JavaScript and HTML (no JAVA application). A free Flash plug-in (from Version 8 on) is needed for communication between users and for streaming video and audio
How much traffic is generated by the MangoSpring WebIM ?
The MangoSpring Web IM application does not cause or generate any traffic.
Does WebIM support group chat as well ?
Yes, users can create groups real-time and can start chatting in the group right way.
Does WebIM support group chat as well ?
Yes, if you using Instant WebIM.
For integrated Web IM you do not need to register on MangoSpring and can directly get access to IM from your existing site.
What are the different Interfaces of WebIM ?
Website IM allows you to choose from 2 different interfaces and experiences. They are:
Social Bar: The innovative social bar pane is a fully configurable chat bar showing a list of buddies, moderators, support staff, groups, presence, audio/video actions, fly outs and expand/collapse capabilities.
Full window client: This is a rich full window chat experience with a dashboard that allows for a complete chat lobby experience, audio and video streaming, multi-user chat, bookmarking of favorite groups and search capabilities for users.
What are the system requirements for installing WebIM ?

How does a user change his account settings ?
Every user has access to a user portal which allows him to make changes to his account.
How can I view my chat history and the log of files that I transferred via WebIM ?
User Portal has the log of your chat history and file transfers. Once you are logged in to your account, you will see a message history section on your dashboard.
Can I access WebIM from my Mobile ?
If you have Integrated version of WebIM then you can use it from Mobile. The Instant WebIM version does not support Mobile usage.
What is the desktop notifier ?
The desktop notifier is a light and easy system tray notifier application that enables your website community users to get IM alerts, notification and user presence on their PC. Please visit here.
What is XMPP ? Does WebIM support XMPP ?
Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) is an open, XML-based protocol originally aimed at near-real-time, extensible instant messaging (IM) and presence information (e.g., buddy lists), but now expanded into the broader realm of message oriented middle-ware. It remains the core protocol of the Jabber Instant Messaging and Presence technology. Built to be extensible, the protocol has been extended with features such as Voice Over Internet Protocol and file transfer signaling.
